Arjuna said: 'O king, he deserves to ascend even the seat of Indra. He honors the brahmanas, is learned, generous, devoted to sacrifice, and firm in his vows. This is the bull of the Kurus, Kunti's son Yudhishthira; his fame stands in the world like the light of the rising sun. The rays of his glory spread through every quarter, like the rays of the risen sun. While he ruled the Kurus, ten thousand swift elephants followed him. Thirty thousand chariots, adorned with golden garlands and yoked with fine horses, always followed behind him. Eight hundred charioteers with polished jeweled earrings, together with the bards of Magadha, once praised him as sages praised Shakra. The Kurus served him constantly as servants, and all the kings, O king, served him as immortals serve Kubera, lord of wealth. He made all the rulers of the earth pay tribute like vaishyas, both those who were independent and those already under his sway. Eighty-eight thousand great snatakas lived under this king, faithful to his noble vows. The old, the orphaned, the maimed, and the lame among his people he protected according to dharma, as though they were his own sons. He is firm in dharma, in self-control, and in restraining anger; he is greatly gracious, honors the brahmanas, and speaks the truth. It is by his glory and might that Suyodhana, together with his retinue, with Karna and with the son of Subala, is tormented. His virtues cannot be counted, O lord of men. This Pandava is ever devoted to dharma and to compassion. Such a great king, this Pandava, foremost among the lords of the earth -- how could he not deserve the seat of a king?'

Arjuna reveals Yudhishthira through his qualities, not merely his name. True kingship is defined by protecting the weak, by truthfulness, and by mastery over oneself.
