Translation

Except for a vessel of water, except for the washing of his feet, except for the customary inquiries after the welfare of those he meets, Janardana will accept no other hospitality and will pay no heed to anything else. But render him, O king, that hospitality which is most pleasing to this illustrious man deserving of every honor, for there is no honor that cannot rightly be paid to Janardana. Grant Keshava, O king, the very purpose for the sake of which — wishing to benefit both sides — he has come to the Kurus.
