"Behold, in these waters lies an egg, radiant with beauty. It has been here since the very beginning of creation. It neither moves nor bursts. I have never heard anyone speak of its birth or nature. No one knows who its father or mother is. It is said, O Matali, that when the end of the world comes, a mighty fire will burst forth from it and, spreading, will consume the three worlds along with all their moving and unmoving things." Having heard these words of Narada, Matali answered him: "It seems to me that no one here is suitable. So let us leave this place at once!"
