पक्षवातप्रणुन्नानां वृक्षाणाम् अनुगामिनाम् ॥
प्रस्थितानाम् इव समं पश्यामीह गतिं खग ॥
ससागरवनाम् उर्वीं सशैलवनकाननाम् ॥
आकर्षन्न् इव चाभासि पक्षवातेन खेचर ॥
समीननागनक्रं च खम् इवारोप्यते जलम् ॥
वायुना चैव महता पक्षवातेन चानिशम् ॥
तुल्यरूपाननान् मत्स्यांस् तिमिमत्स्यांस् तिमिंगिलान् ॥
नागांश् च नरवक्त्रांश् च पश्याम्य् उन्मथितान् इव ॥
महार्णवस्य च रवैः श्रोत्रे मे बधिरीकृते ॥
न शृणोमि न पश्यामि नात्मनो वेद्मि कारणम् ॥

sasāgaravanām urvīṃ saśailavanakānanām ||

vāyunā caiva mahatā pakṣavātena cāniśam ||
tulyarūpānanān matsyāṃs timimatsyāṃs timiṃgilān ||
nāgāṃś ca naravaktrāṃś ca paśyāmy unmathitān iva ||
mahārṇavasya ca ravaiḥ śrotre me badhirīkṛte ||
na śṛṇomi na paśyāmi nātmano vedmi kāraṇam ||
"O bird, I see how the trees, driven by the wind of your wings, seem to have set out with us and move along behind. O wanderer of the sky, with the wind of your wings you seem to drag the wide earth along with its oceans, forests, mountains, and thickets. The waters, full of fish, nagas, and crocodiles, seem to rise into the sky beneath the great wind and the unceasing gust of your wings. I see fish, huge timi, timingilas, nagas, and beings with human faces, as though churned up by this motion. The roar of the great ocean has deafened my ears: I no longer hear, I no longer see, and I no longer understand what is happening to me."
