Translation

‘…when the worlds had split into two and were perishing, O Bharata, then the god possessed of the power of creation, the revered maker of worlds, said: “The asuras, the daityas together with the danavas, will be defeated; the Adityas, the Vasus, and the Rudras will become dwellers of heaven. Gods, asuras, men, gandharvas, serpents, and rakshasas, well arrayed in this battle, will slay one another.” Having thought thus, Parameshthin Prajapati said to Dharma: “Bind these daityas and danavas and hand them over to Varuna.” Thus addressed, Dharma, by the command of Parameshthin, bound all the daityas and danavas and gave them over to Varuna.’
