सौभद्वारे वानरेन्द्रो द्विविदो नाम नामतः ॥
शिलावर्षेण महता छादयाम् आस केशवम् ॥
ग्रहीतुकामो विक्रम्य सर्वयत्नेन माधवम् ॥
ग्रहीतुं नाशकत् तत्र तं त्वं प्रार्थयसे बलात् ॥
निर्मोचने षट् सहस्राः पाशैर् बद्ध्वा महासुराः ॥
ग्रहीतुं नाशकंश् चैनं तं त्वं प्रार्थयसे बलात् ॥
प्राग्ज्योतिषगतं शौरिं नरकः सह दानवैः ॥
ग्रहीतुं नाशकत् तत्र तं त्वं प्रार्थयसे बलात् ॥
अनेन हि हता बाल्ये पूतना शिशुना तथा ॥
गोवर्धनो धारितश् च गवार्थे भरतर्षभ ॥

anena hi hatā bālye pūtanā śiśunā tathā ||
govardhano dhāritaś ca gavārthe bharatarṣabha ||
"At the gate of Saubha, the king of monkeys named Dvivida once showered Keshava with a great rain of stones. Wishing to seize Madhava, he attacked him with all his might, but could not capture him there; and yet you try to seize him by force. In Nirmochana, six thousand great asuras, having bound him with nooses, could not capture him; and yet you try to seize him by force. When Shauri came to Pragjyotisha, Naraka together with the danavas could not capture him there; and yet you try to seize him by force. By him, while still an infant, Putana was slain, and for the sake of the cows and cowherds, the mountain Govardhana was lifted up, O best of the Bharatas."
