"By the evil minds of Jayadratha, Karna, Duhshasana and Subala's son, mutual discord is kindled. By lawlessness such a kingdom was taken from the most righteous; this is their right, and it will bear consequences. When the Kurus forcibly seize what is dharma, who would not burn with anger? Keshava has departed without a peaceful accord, and the Pandavas will rise to war. Then calamity, destroying heroes, will befall the Kurus. Thinking of this, I find no sleep, neither by day nor by night." Having heard this word, spoken by one who wished her well, Kunti, worn out with grief and sighing heavily, began to ponder in her heart.

The chapter turns the political drama into a personal one: Vidura sees the inevitability of war, while Kunti understands that the only path to peace left runs through Karna's heart. Here dharma reveals itself as a painful collision of kinship, the secret of birth, gratitude, and responsibility before the whole family line.
