वैशंपायन उवाच
एवम् उक्त्वा ययौ व्यासो धृतराष्ट्राय धीमते ॥
धृतराष्ट्रो ऽपि तच् छ्रुत्वा ध्यानम् एवान्वपद्यत ॥
स मुहूर्तम् इव ध्यात्वा विनिःश्वस्य मुहुर् मुहुः ॥
संजयं संशितात्मानम् अपृच्छद् भरतर्षभ ॥

evam uktvā yayau vyāso dhṛtarāṣṭrāya dhīmate ||
dhṛtarāṣṭro 'pi tac chrutvā dhyānam evānvapadyata ||
sa muhūrtam iva dhyātvā viniḥśvasya muhur muhuḥ ||
saṃjayaṃ saṃśitātmānam apṛcchad bharatarṣabha ||

Translation
Vaishampayana said: "Having spoken thus, Vyasa departed from the wise Dhritarashtra. Dhritarashtra, hearing this, sank into deep reflection. Having pondered for a moment and sighing again and again, he asked the composed Sanjaya, O best of the Bharatas."
