Translation

Thereafter the battle began between your men and the enemy, in which chariots and elephants were intermingled, and warriors slew one another. Streams of horses and chariots everywhere, O lord of men, collided and destroyed one another. From the rushing streams of chariots striking in different places arose a deafening roar, mingled with the boom of drums. In that extremely turbulent clash the heroes of both your side and theirs, slaying one another, produced a sound that touched the heavens, O Bharata.
