तांस् तु र्वान् हेष्वासान् र्वविद्यासु निष्ठितान्
व्यष्टम्भयद् णे बाणैः सौद्रः वीहा
द्रोणं ञ्चाता विद्ध्वा विंत्या बृद्बलम्
शीत्या कृर्माणं कृपं ष्ट्या शिलीमुखैः
रुक्मपुङ्खैर् हावेगैर् र्णचोदितैः
विध्यद् भिर् बाणैर् श्वत्थामानम् र्जुनिः

tāṃs tu sarvān maheṣvān sarvavidyāsu niṣṭhitān ||
vyaṣṭambhayad raṇe ṇaiḥ saubhadraḥ parara ||
droṇaṃ pañcāśa viddhvā viṃśatyā ca bṛhadbalam ||
aśītyā kṛtavarmāṇaṃ kṛpaṃ ṣaṣṭyā śimukhaiḥ ||
rukmapuṅkhair mavegair ākarṇasamacoditaiḥ ||
avidhyad daśabhir bāṇair aśvatthānam ārjuniḥ ||

Translation

All those great archers, accomplished in all the sciences, the son of Subhadra, slayer of enemy warriors, held back in battle with arrows: having wounded Drona with fifty, Brihadbala with twenty, Kritavarman with eighty, Kripa with sixty arrows; with gold-feathered, mighty-swift arrows drawn to the ear, the son of Arjuna wounded Ashvatthaman with ten.
