तद् युद्धम् वद् घोरं क्तिमाकुलम्
भीरूणां त्रानं शूराणां र्षर्धनम्
ताभ्यां त्र रैर् मुक्तैर् न्तरिक्षं दिशस् था
वत् संवृतं र्वं प्राज्ञा किं

tad yuddham abhavad ghoraṃ śaraśaktisakulam ||
bhīṇāṃ trāsajananaṃ śūṇāṃ harṣavardhanam ||
bhyāṃ tatra śarair muktair antarikṣaṃ diśas tathā ||
abhavat saṃvṛtaṃ sarvaṃ na prājñāyata kiṃ cana ||

Translation

That battle was terrible, full of arrows and shaktis, striking dread into the faint-hearted, increasing the joy of the brave. By the arrows loosed there by those two, the sky and the quarters of the world all became covered; nothing could be made out.
