तो द्रोणं शिनेः पौत्रो ग्रन्तम् सृञ्जयान्
प्रत्यविध्यच् छितैर् बाणैः ड्विंत्या स्तनान्तरे
तः र्वे थास् तूर्णं पाञ्चाला गृद्धिनः
सात्वताभिसृते द्रोणे धृष्टद्युम्नम् मोयन्

tato droṇaṃ śineḥ pautro grasantam iva sṛñjayān ||
pratyavidhyac chitair bāṇaiḥ ṣaḍviṃśatyā stantare ||
tataḥ sarve rathās tūrṇaṃ ñcā jayagṛddhinaḥ ||
tvabhisṛte droṇe dhṛṣṭadyumnam amocayan ||

Translation

Then Shini's grandson, in return, pierced Drona — who was as though devouring the Srinjayas — with sharp arrows, twenty-six in the chest. Then, while Drona rushed at the Satvata, all the Panchala charioteers, craving victory, led Dhrishtadyumna away to safety.
