सो ऽतिविद्धो ता पुत्रे न्विना
र्षशम् न्नस् पुत्रम् पीयत्
पीडितं नृतिं दृष्ट्वा पुत्रा हाथाः
सात्वतं र्षे छायाम् सुर् ञ्जसा
छाद्यमानो हुभिस् पुत्रैर् हाथैः
कैकं ञ्चभिर् विद्ध्वा पुनर् विव्या प्तभिः

so 'tividdho balava putreṇa tava dhanvi ||
amarṣavaśam āpannas tava putram aḍayat ||
ḍitaṃ nṛpatiṃ dṛṣṭvā tava putrā marathāḥ ||
tvataṃ śaravarṣeṇa chādam āsur añja ||
sa chādyano bahubhis tava putrair marathaiḥ ||
ekaikaṃ pañcabhir viddhvā punar vivyādha saptabhiḥ ||

Translation

He, sorely pierced by your mighty archer son, overcome by wrath, pressed your son hard. Seeing the king thus pressed, your sons, the great warriors, at once covered the Satvata with a shower of arrows. He, covered by your many great-warrior sons, pierced each one with five arrows, then again struck them with seven.
