तो वामे कौन्तेयः पीयित्वा रानम्
मुष्टिना पाण्डवो राजन् दृढे सुरिष्कृतम्
नुष्यतां ज्ञात्वा प्त संधा साकान्
तेभ्यो व्यसृजद् स्तः सूर्यश्मिनिभान् प्रभुः
निस्यन्न् देहेभ्यस् यानाम् सूंस्
भीसेनो हारा पूर्ववैरम् नुस्मरन्

muṣṭi ṇḍavo jan dṛḍhena supariṣkṛtam ||
manuṣyasamatāṃ jñātvā sapta saṃdhāya yakān ||
tebhyo vyasṛjad āyastaḥ ryaraśminibhān prabhuḥ ||
nirasyann iva dehebhyas tanam asūṃs tava ||
bhīmaseno maja rvavairam anusmaran ||

Translation

Then, gripping his splendidly adorned bow firm in his left hand with a strong fist, the Pandava Kaunteya, O king, recognizing that they were mere mortal men like any others, fitted seven arrows and, having drawn taut, loosed them, resembling rays of the sun — as if driving the life out of the bodies of your sons, the mighty Bhimasena, O great king, remembering the old enmity.
