तां दृष्ट्वा द्वारकां पार्थस् ताश् च कृष्णस्य योषितः ॥
सस्वनं बाष्पम् उत्सृज्य निपपात महीतले ॥

ततस् ताः काञ्चने पीठे समुत्थायोपवेश्य च ॥

आश्वास्य ताः स्त्रियश् चापि मातुलं द्रष्टुम् अभ्यगात् ॥

tatas tāḥ kāñcane pīṭhe samutthāyopaveśya ca ||
abruvantyo mahātmānaṃ parivāryopatasthire ||
tataḥ saṃstūya govindaṃ kathayitvā ca pāṇḍavaḥ ||
āśvāsya tāḥ striyaś cāpi mātulaṃ draṣṭum abhyagāt ||
Having seen that Dvārakā and those wives of Kṛṣṇa, Pārtha shed tears with a sob and fell to the ground. Satyā, the daughter of Satrājit, and Rukmiṇī, O lord of the people, rushing forward and surrounding Dhanañjaya, burst into weeping. Then, rising, they seated him upon a golden throne and stood around that great-souled one, addressing him. Thereafter the Pāndava, having praised Govinda and conversed with them, comforted those wives and went to see his maternal uncle.

The widowed queens, themselves cast into grief, raise the fallen Arjuna and seat him — the bereaved comfort the bereaved: a shared loss joins hearts in mutual support. And in their very conversation 'Govinda is praised' — remembrance of the Lord becomes consolation for the orphaned, for meditation upon Him heals the ache of separation from Him. Arjuna, having comforted the wives, goes to fulfill his filial duty toward his uncle. The verse teaches that grief shared is lighter than grief borne alone, and the bereaved are called to sustain one another rather than close themselves within their sorrow; and that true consolation in loss is found in the glorification and remembrance of the Lord, for turning to Him restores to the bereaved heart a peace that neither tears nor words can give.
