Here the Lord cares for His hidden ones, offering wise counsel. Significant is the comparison: "grow like a kindled flame in a secret place" — let their strength ripen in secret, until the hour comes to reveal itself. Here is Krishna's providential care: He protects His own, advising them to keep hidden and gather strength until the time is right. Also significant is His unobtrusive departure, so as not to betray them. Thus the scripture reveals the Lord's love, guarding His devotees and ordaining their growth; and Krishna withdraws, leaving them under His unseen watch.
