Bhimasena said: 'So I shall do, gracious one, as you say, O timid one. Today I shall kill Kichaka together with his kinsmen. In the evening twilight of this night, arrange a meeting with him, casting off grief and sorrow, Yajnaseni, pure of smile. There is the dancing hall built by the king of the Matsyas: by day the maidens dance there, and by night they go home. There is a couch there, sturdy and well set. There I shall show him his departed forefathers. Do so, lovely one, that you not be seen while arranging this with him, and that he come to be there.' Vaishampayana said: 'Having spoken thus, both of them, grieving, shed tears and bore in their hearts the remainder of that terrible night.'

Bhima's decision is not a hasty outburst but a precise plan. Draupadi's protection must be carried out in a way that does not break the vow of the hidden year.
