सांप्रतं चैव यत् कार्यं तच् च क्षिप्रम् अकालिकम् ॥
क्रियतां साधु संचिन्त्य वासश् चैषां प्रचिन्त्यताम् ॥
यथावत् पाण्डुपुत्राणां सर्वार्थेषु धृतात्मनाम् ॥
दुर्ज्ञेयाः खलु शूरास् ते अपापास् तपसा वृताः ॥
शुद्धात्मा गुणवान् पार्थः सत्यवान् नीतिमाञ् शुचिः ॥
तेजोराशिर् असंख्येयो गृह्णीयाद् अपि चक्षुषी ॥
विज्ञाय क्रियतां तस्माद् भूयश् च मृगयामहे ॥
ब्राह्मणैश् चारकैः सिद्धैर् ये चान्ये तद्विदो जनाः ॥
sāṃprataṃ caiva yat kāryaṃ tac ca kṣipram akālikam ||
kriyatāṃ sādhu saṃcintya vāsaś caiṣāṃ pracintyatām ||
yathāvat pāṇḍuputrāṇāṃ sarvārtheṣu dhṛtātmanām ||
durjñeyāḥ khalu śūrās te apāpās tapasā vṛtāḥ ||
śuddhātmā guṇavān pārthaḥ satyavān nītimāñ śuciḥ ||
tejorāśir asaṃkhyeyo gṛhṇīyād api cakṣuṣī ||
vijñāya kriyatāṃ tasmād bhūyaś ca mṛgayāmahe ||
brāhmaṇaiś cārakaiḥ siddhair ye cānye tadvido janāḥ ||
'And what must be done now must be done quickly and in good time, after careful thought; their dwelling place, too, must be considered. The sons of Pandu, steadfast in themselves in all matters, are truly hard to recognize: these heroes are sinless and wrapped in austerity. Pure of soul, endowed with virtues, truthful, wise, and clean, Partha is an immeasurable mass of splendor; he could even seize one's sight. Therefore they must be sought out and searched for again -- with brahmins, wandering ascetics, perfected beings, and other people who know this task.'
