Traducción

This is the Soul-being who is Ishvara, pervading everything in the universe. It is Ishvara who ordained the sacrifices. This Eternal One, endowed with Divinity, is beheld by yogis (with their mind's eye). Souls, free from contingencies, resorting to avidya, like a tree with golden foliage, take on misfortunes and are born in various orders according to their inclinations. That Eternal One, endowed with Divinity (in Whom all these Souls are united), is beheld by yogis (with their mind's eye). Contingencies (which, coming into contact with Brahman, cause the latter to assume many forms) raise up the universe in its Fullness from that Brahman who is full. These contingencies also, in their Fullness, arise from Brahman in His Fullness. When it becomes possible to dispel all contingencies from Brahman, who is always Full, what remains is Brahman in his Fullness. This Eternal One, endowed with Divinity, is beheld by yogis (with their mind's eye). It is from this Seed that the five elements arose, and it is in it that the power to govern them is contained. It is from this Seed that both the consumer and the consumed (called Agni and Soma) originated, and it is in it that living organisms endowed with the organs of sense rest. Everything is to be regarded as having arisen from it. That Seed, called in the Vedas TATH (Tad), we cannot describe. This Eternal One, endowed with Divinity, is beheld by yogis (with their mind's eye). The vital breath called Apana is absorbed by the Breath called Prana; Prana is absorbed by the Will, the Will by the Intellect, and the Intellect by the Supreme Soul. This Eternal One, endowed with Divinity, is beheld by yogis (with their mind's eye). The Supreme Soul is endowed with four feet, called respectively Waking, Dreaming, Deep Sleep, and Turiya; like a swan treading over the bottomless ocean of worldly affairs, it does not set forth even one foot hidden deep within. For one who contemplates this foot (that is, Turiya), put forward to lead the other three, both death and liberation are one and the same. This Eternal One, endowed with Divinity, is beheld by yogis (with their mind's eye). The size of a thumb, ever full and distinct from this mortal organism, coming into contact with the Vital Airs, the Will, the Intellect, and the ten Senses, it moves to and fro. This Supreme Controller, worthy of reverent hymns, capable of all things, when endowed with contingencies, and the first cause of all, manifests as Knowledge in the Souls of beings. Some fools do not see him; this Eternal One, endowed with Divinity, is seen by yogis (with their mind's eye). Among people there are those who have mastered their minds, and those who have not.
