Charmed by me, Agni would instantly go out, even should he blaze up all around to consume all beings. Great indeed is the energy with which the gods are endowed, but know, O Bharata, that my energy surpasses that of the gods. Should the very Earth split in two, or should the mountain ridges break apart, I could reunite them, O king, by my spells, before the eyes of all. Should a dreadful storm arise, or a thunderous rain of stones, to destroy this universe of animate and inanimate, moving and unmoving beings, I could always, out of compassion for created beings, halt it before the eyes of all. When the waters are made solid by me, even chariots and foot-soldiers can move upon them. It is I who set in motion all the works of both gods and asuras. To whatever country I go with my Akshauhinis on any mission, my horses move wherever I wish. In my domains there are no fearsome serpents, and under the protection of my spells, the creatures within my territories never suffer harm from other dreadful beings.
