अदृश्यन्त्यां च वासिष्ठो वसिष्ठश् चाक्षमालया ॥
च्यवनश् च सुकन्यायां पुलस्त्यः संध्यया यथा ॥
अगस्त्यश् चापि वैदर्भ्यां सावित्र्यां सत्यवान् यथा ॥
यथा भृगुः पुलोमायाम् अदित्यां कश्यपो यथा ॥
रेणुकायां यथार्चीको हैमवत्यां च कौशिकः ॥
बृहस्पतिश् च तारायां शुक्रश् च शतपर्वया ॥
यथा भूम्यां भूमिपतिर् उर्वश्यां च पुरूरवाः ॥
ऋचीकः सत्यवत्यां च सरस्वत्यां यथा मनुः ॥
तथा तु रममाणस्य दिवोदासस्य भूपतेः ॥
माधवी जनयाम् आस पुत्रम् एकं प्रतर्दनम् ॥

yathā bhūmyāṃ bhūmipatir urvaśyāṃ ca purūravāḥ ||
ṛcīkaḥ satyavatyāṃ ca sarasvatyāṃ yathā manuḥ ||
tathā tu ramamāṇasya divodāsasya bhūpateḥ ||
mādhavī janayām āsa putram ekaṃ pratardanam ||
'As the son of Vasishtha with Adrishyanti, as Vasishtha with Akshamala, Chyavana with Sukanya, Pulastya with Sandhya, Agastya with the princess of Vidarbha, Satyavan with Savitri, Bhrigu with Puloma, Kashyapa with Aditi, Richika with Renuka, Kaushika with Haimavati, Brihaspati with Tara, Shukra with Shataparva, the lord of the earth with Bhumi, Pururavas with Urvashi, Richika with Satyavati, and Manu with Sarasvati — thus, when Divodasa, the lord of the earth, took delight in Madhavi, she bore him a single son, Pratardana.'
