Traducción

"Again and again, out of a woman's nature and childish immaturity, I pondered the power and the weakness of mantras, and the power of a brahmin's word. Then, guarded by a trusted nurse and surrounded by friends, avoiding fault and guarding my father's honor, I thought: how could I do a good deed and yet not be found guilty? Having pondered this and bowed to that brahmin, out of curiosity and childish naivety, having received the mantra, I made use of it: while still a maiden, I summoned the god of the Sun. Why, then, should that son of mine, the fruit of a maiden's conceiving, raised as if he were my son, not carry out a useful word for the good of his brothers?"
