Traducción

Bhishma said: Then all the ascetics, seeing that she was firmly resolved upon austerity, tried to dissuade her, my son, and asked: 'What is it you mean to do?' Then the maiden said to those sages grown great in austerity: 'Bhishma has rejected me and stripped me of a wife's duty. My initiation is for his destruction, not for the good of the worlds, O you rich in austerity. Having slain Bhishma, I shall find peace — such is my resolve. Because of him I have come to this everlasting abode of suffering; deprived of a husband's world, I am here neither woman nor man. Without slaying the son of Ganga in battle, I shall not turn back, O ascetics. This is the resolve in my heart, for the sake of which all this has been undertaken.'
