ततो भग्ने बले तस्मिन् विप्रयाते समन्ततः ॥
सव्यसाचिनि संक्रुद्धे त्रैगर्तान् भयम् आविशत् ॥
ते वध्यमानाः पार्थेन शरैः संनतपर्वभिः ॥
अमुह्यंस् तत्र तत्रैव त्रस्ता मृगगणा इव ॥
ततस् त्रिगर्तराट् क्रुद्धस् तान् उवाच महारथान् ॥
अलं द्रुतेन वः शूरा न भयं कर्तुम् अर्हथ ॥

te vadhyamānāḥ pārthena śaraiḥ saṃnataparvabhiḥ ||

tatas trigartarāṭ kruddhas tān uvāca mahārathān ||
alaṃ drutena vaḥ śūrā na bhayaṃ kartum arhatha ||

Traducción

Then, when that army was broken and scattered in every direction, and Savyasachin blazed with wrath, terror overcame the Trigartas. Struck down by Partha's well-fashioned arrows, they grew numb here and there, terrified, like herds of deer. Then the king of the Trigartas, in wrath, addressed those great chariot-warriors: 'Enough of this flight, O heroes! It does not befit you to yield to fear.'
