ततो धनंजयो बाणैस् तत एव महारथान् ॥
आयाद् विनिघ्नन् कौरव्यान् दहन् कक्षम् इवानलः ॥
तस्य वेगम् असह्यं तु कुन्तीपुत्रस्य धीमतः ॥
नाशक्नुवंस् ते संसोढुं स्पर्शम् अग्नेर् इव प्रजाः ॥
संवेष्टयन्न् अनीकानि शरवर्षेण पाण्डवः ॥
सुपर्णपातवद् राजन्न् आयात् प्राग्ज्योतिषं प्रति ॥

āyād vinighnan kauravyān dahan kakṣam ivānalaḥ ||
tasya vegam asahyaṃ tu kuntīputrasya dhīmataḥ ||

saṃveṣṭayann anīkāni śaravarṣeṇa pāṇḍavaḥ ||

Traducción

Then Dhananjaya, with arrows, at once advanced, striking down the great chariot-warriors of the Kauravas, consuming them as fire consumes dry brush. His irresistible onslaught, that of the wise son of Kunti, they could not endure, as creatures cannot endure the touch of fire. Enveloping the ranks in a rain of arrows, the Pandava, like Garuda's swoop, O sovereign, pressed on toward Bhagadatta.
