ततस् ते कोपितास् तेन शरैर् आशीविषोपमैः ॥
परिवव्रुर् जिघांसन्तः सौभद्रम् अपलायिनम् ॥
समुद्रम् इव पर्यस्तं त्वदीयं तद् बलार्णवम् ॥
अभिमन्युर् दधारैको वेलेव मकरालयम् ॥
शूराणां युध्यमानानां निघ्नताम् इतरेतरम् ॥
अभिमन्योः परेषां च नासीत् कश् चित् पराङ्मुखः ॥

samudram iva paryastaṃ tvadīyaṃ tad balārṇavam ||

Traducción

Then they, inflamed by him, surrounded the unyielding son of Subhadra with arrows resembling venomous serpents, longing to slay him. That army of yours, like a surging ocean, an abyss of a host, Abhimanyu held back alone, as a shore holds back the abode of sea-monsters. Among the warriors fighting and striking one another, neither on Abhimanyu's side nor among the enemies did anyone turn away in flight.
