"Krishna, may you have no longing, no pain, no sleepless nights. With husbands like gods, you will obtain the conquered earth. Women of such character and such worthy signs do not suffer for long, as you do, dark-eyed one. I have heard: together with your husbands you are certain to enjoy this earth, cleared of thorns and free of strife. O daughter of Drupada, after the destruction of Dhritarashtra's sons and requital for the enmity done to you, you will see the earth standing under the rule of Yudhishthira. Those wives of the Kurus who, deluded by pride, laughed at you when you were being exiled — you will soon see them with their hopes shattered. Know, Krishna, that all who caused you suffering and acted against you with hostility have already set out for the abode of Yama. Your sons — Prativindhya, Sutasoma, Arjuna's mighty son Shrutakarman, Shatanika born of Nakula, and Shrutasena born of Sahadeva — are all in good health, heroes, trained in arms, and very content in Dvaraka, like Abhimanyu. Subhadra treats them with the same wholehearted love as you would; the mother of Pradyumna also serves them, and Keshava singles them out along with Bhanu and the others. My father-in-law constantly looks after their food and clothing, and all the Andhakas and Vrishnis, beginning with Rama, love them; their love for them, a beautiful thing, equals their love for Pradyumna."

Satyabhama's comfort rests not on an empty promise but on the law of dharma: the insult done to Draupadi is already bearing its fruit.
