Translation

Vaishampayana said: "At the killing of Kichaka together with his younger kinsmen, lord of men, the common people, dwelling on the gravest danger, were struck with wonder. In that city and country, talk arose everywhere: 'Kichaka was beloved of the king for his strength and great might. He struck people, was of evil mind, and laid hands on other men's wives. And now this sinner, this wicked man, the hard-to-conquer Kichaka, destroyer of hostile armies, has been slain by Gandharvas.'"
