Translation

Shalya said: 'Then Indra, glorified by hosts of gandharvas and heavenly nymphs, mounted upon Airavata, the lord of elephants, marked with auspicious signs. And the resplendent Agni, and the great sage Brihaspati, and Yama, and Varuna, and Kubera, the lord of wealth, accompanied him. And the Lord Shakra, slayer of Vritra, then set forth through the three worlds, surrounded by the gods together with the gandharvas and heavenly nymphs; and having performed a hundred sacrifices, the king of the gods thus joined with his queen and began to protect the worlds with the utmost joy. Then the illustrious divine sage Angiras appeared in Indra's assembly and duly paid him homage, reciting the hymns of the Atharva[veda].'
