Translation

As with Indra, victory always rests with Arjuna, who has Hrishikesha as his charioteer in battle, one of the same character and standing. We hear that the two Krishnas on a single chariot, together with the twanging Gandiva — these three powers — have become united as one. As for us, we have no such bow, no warrior like Arjuna, no charioteer like Krishna. Duryodhana's foolish followers do not know this. O Sanjaya, blazing lightning that falls upon the head still leaves something unconsumed, but the arrows loosed by Kiritin, O child, leave nothing unconsumed. Even now I see Dhananjaya loosing his shafts and sowing chaos all around, severing heads from bodies with his showers of arrows! Even now I see the blazing fire spreading everywhere, streaming from the Gandiva and consuming the ranks of my sons in battle.
