मत्प्रियं पार्थिवाः सर्वे ये चिकीर्षन्ति भारत ॥
ते तान् आवारयिष्यन्ति ऐणेयान् इव तन्तुना ॥
महता रथवंशेन शरजालैश् च मामकैः ॥
अभिद्रुता भविष्यन्ति पाञ्चालाः पाण्डवैः सह ॥
धृतराष्ट्र उवाच
उन्मत्त इव मे पुत्रो विलपत्य् एष संजय ॥
न हि शक्तो युधा जेतुं धर्मराजं युधिष्ठिरम् ॥
जानाति हि सदा भीष्मः पाण्डवानां यशस्विनाम् ॥
बलवत्तां सपुत्राणां धर्मज्ञानां महात्मनाम् ॥
यतो नारोचयम् अहं विग्रहं तैर् महात्मभिः ॥
किं तु संजय मे ब्रूहि पुनस् तेषां विचेष्टितम् ॥

unmatta iva me putro vilapaty eṣa saṃjaya ||
na hi śakto yudhā jetuṃ dharmarājaṃ yudhiṣṭhiram ||
jānāti hi sadā bhīṣmaḥ pāṇḍavānāṃ yaśasvinām ||
balavattāṃ saputrāṇāṃ dharmajñānāṃ mahātmanām ||
yato nārocayam ahaṃ vigrahaṃ tair mahātmabhiḥ ||
kiṃ tu saṃjaya me brūhi punas teṣāṃ viceṣṭitam ||
And horses with sable bodies and backs, dappled like the wings of the Tittiri bird, given by his gratified brother Phalguna and surpassing even the horses of the heroic Phalguna himself, cheerfully carry Sahadeva. And Nakula, of the line of Ajamidha, son of Madri, is borne, like Indra the slayer of Vritra, upon excellent horses given by the great Indra himself, all mighty as the wind and endowed with tremendous speed.
