Translation

And both of them, skilled in their tasks, told Varuna of their purpose and, having received his permission, began to wander through that region of the nagas. And Narada, who knew all the inhabitants of the lower worlds, then began to describe to his companion in detail everything about the dwellers of the naga realm. And Narada said: 'You have seen, O charioteer, Varuna surrounded by his sons and grandsons. Here is the domain of the Lord of the Waters. It is beautiful on every side and full of riches. The son of Varuna, Lord of the Ocean, endowed with great wisdom, is renowned indeed for his conduct, his character, and his holiness. Possessed of eyes like lotus petals, this Pushkara is truly the beloved son of Varuna, endowed with great beauty and delightful to behold. The daughter of Soma chose him as her husband. This daughter of Soma, equal in beauty to a second Shri, is known by the name Jyotsnakali. Indeed, it is said that once before she had already chosen as her lord the eldest and most excellent son of Aditi.'
