Translation

Behold, O companion of the Lord of the celestial beings, this abode is made entirely of gold and filled with the wine called Varuni. Indeed, by drinking this wine, the gods obtained their divine heads. This blazing weaponry of every kind that you see, O Matali, once belonged to the daityas who were stripped of their power. This weaponry is proof against destruction and, once hurled at a foe, always returns to the hand that cast it. Won by the gods as spoils of war, they demand great mental energy to be wielded against enemies. Here in bygone times dwelt many tribes of rakshasas and daityas, who possessed many kinds of celestial weapons, but all of them were vanquished by the gods. There, in the lake of Varuna, is that blazing fire and that discus of Vishnu, encircled by the radiant splendor of mighty energy. Here lies that knotted bow which was fashioned for the destruction of the world. The gods ever keep vigilant watch over it, and it is from this very bow that the one wielded by Arjuna took its name.
