Translation

This quarter is called the second door of Yama. It is here that the periods allotted to men are reckoned in trutis and lavas. Text 15: In this region there always dwell the celestial Rishis, the Rishis of Pitriloka, and the royal Rishis, abiding in great happiness. Here are religion and truth. It is here that the deeds of men bear their fruits. This region, O best of the twice-born, is the destination of the deeds of the dead. It is in this region, O best of twice-born men, that all must be restored. And since all beings are enveloped in darkness, they cannot therefore come here in a state of bliss. Here, O bull among twice-born men, are found many thousands of malevolent rakshasas, so that sinners may behold them.
