अथाजगाम भगवान् दिवोदासं स गालवः ॥
समये समनुप्राप्ते वचनं चेदम् अब्रवीत् ॥
निर्यातयतु मे कन्यां भवांस् तिष्ठन्तु वाजिनः ॥
यावद् अन्यत्र गच्छामि शुल्कार्थं पृथिवीपते ॥
दिवोदासो ऽथ धर्मात्मा समये गालवस्य ताम् ॥
कन्यां निर्यातयाम् आस स्थितः सत्ये महीपतिः ॥

athājagāma bhagavān divodāsaṃ sa gālavaḥ ||
samaye samanuprāpte vacanaṃ cedam abravīt ||
niryātayatu me kanyāṃ bhavāṃs tiṣṭhantu vājinaḥ ||
yāvad anyatra gacchāmi śulkārthaṃ pṛthivīpate ||
divodāso 'tha dharmātmā samaye gālavasya tām ||
kanyāṃ niryātayām āsa sthitaḥ satye mahīpatiḥ ||

Translation

When the appointed time had come, the venerable Galava came to Divodasa and said: 'Let your honor return the maiden to me; let the horses remain with you while I go elsewhere for the bride-price, O lord of the earth.' Then the righteous Divodasa, true to his word and to his agreement with Galava, returned the maiden to him.
