प्रभिन्नम् इव मातङ्गं प्रतिद्विरदघातिनम् ॥
न तदा भविता त्रेता न कृतं द्वापरं न च ॥
यदा द्रक्ष्यसि संग्रामे माद्रीपुत्रौ महारथौ ॥
वाहिनीं धार्तराष्ट्राणां क्षोभयन्तौ गजाव् इव ॥
विगाढे शस्त्रसंपाते परवीररथारुजौ ॥
न तदा भविता त्रेता न कृतं द्वापरं न च ॥
यदा द्रक्ष्यसि संग्रामे द्रोणं शांतनवं कृपम् ॥
सुयोधनं च राजानं सैन्धवं च जयद्रथम् ॥
युद्धायापततस् तूर्णं वारितान् सव्यसाचिना ॥
न तदा भविता त्रेता न कृतं द्वापरं न च ॥

yadā drakṣyasi saṃgrāme droṇaṃ śāṃtanavaṃ kṛpam ||
suyodhanaṃ ca rājānaṃ saindhavaṃ ca jayadratham ||
yuddhāyāpatatas tūrṇaṃ vāritān savyasācinā ||
na tadā bhavitā tretā na kṛtaṃ dvāparaṃ na ca ||
'...like a rutting elephant striking down the elephant opposing it, then it will be neither Treta, nor Krita, nor Dvapara. When in battle you see the two sons of Madri, great chariot-warriors, shaking the army of Dhritarashtra's sons like two elephants, and in the thick clash of weapons breaking the chariots of enemy heroes, then it will be neither Treta, nor Krita, nor Dvapara. When in battle you see Drona, the son of Shantanu, Kripa, King Suyodhana, and Jayadratha of Sindhu rushing swiftly to battle and checked by Savyasachin, then it will be neither Treta, nor Krita, nor Dvapara.'
