अर्जुन उवाच
मदनुग्रहाय परमं गुह्यम् अध्यात्मसंज्ञितम् ॥
यत् त्वयोक्तं वचस् तेन मोहो ऽयं विगतो मम ॥
भवाप्ययौ हि भूतानां श्रुतौ विस्तरशो मया ॥
त्वत्तः कमलपत्राक्ष माहात्म्यम् अपि चाव्ययम् ॥
एवम् एतद् यथात्थ त्वम् आत्मानं परमेश्वर ॥
द्रष्टुम् इच्छामि ते रूपम् ऐश्वरं पुरुषोत्तम ॥
मन्यसे यदि तच् छक्यं मया द्रष्टुम् इति प्रभो ॥
योगेश्वर ततो मे त्वं दर्शयात्मानम् अव्ययम् ॥
arjuna uvāca
madanugrahāya paramaṃ guhyam adhyātmasaṃjñitam ||
yat tvayoktaṃ vacas tena moho 'yaṃ vigato mama ||
bhavāpyayau hi bhūtānāṃ śrutau vistaraśo mayā ||
tvattaḥ kamalapatrākṣa māhātmyam api cāvyayam ||
evam etad yathāttha tvam ātmānaṃ parameśvara ||
draṣṭum icchāmi te rūpam aiśvaraṃ puruṣottama ||
manyase yadi tac chakyaṃ mayā draṣṭum iti prabho ||
yogeśvara tato me tvaṃ darśayātmānam avyayam ||
Arjuna said: "Out of grace toward me, You have spoken the supreme secret called knowledge of the self, and by it my delusion has vanished. From You, O lotus-eyed one, I have heard at length of the arising and passing away of beings, and also of Your imperishable greatness. All is just as You have said of Yourself, O supreme Lord. Now I wish to see Your sovereign form, O Supreme Person. If You consider that I am able to see it, O Lord, then, O master of yoga, reveal to me Your imperishable nature."
