कालो ऽस्मि लोकक्षयकृत् प्रवृद्धो; लोकान् समाहर्तुम् इह प्रवृत्तः ॥
ऋते ऽपि त्वा न भविष्यन्ति सर्वे; ये ऽवस्थिताः प्रत्यनीकेषु योधाः ॥
तस्मात् त्वम् उत्तिष्ठ यशो लभस्व; जित्वा शत्रून् भुङ्क्ष्व राज्यं समृद्धम् ॥
मयैवैते निहताः पूर्वम् एव; निमित्तमात्रं भव सव्यसाचिन् ॥
द्रोणं च भीष्मं च जयद्रथं च; कर्णं तथान्यान् अपि योधवीरान् ॥
मया हतांस् त्वं जहि मा व्यथिष्ठा; युध्यस्व जेतासि रणे सपत्नान् ॥

Transliteration (IAST)

śrībhagavān uvāca
kālo 'smi lokakṣayakṛt pravṛddho; lokān samāhartum iha pravṛttaḥ ||
ṛte 'pi tvā na bhaviṣyanti sarve; ye 'vasthitāḥ pratyanīkeṣu yodhāḥ ||
tasmāt tvam uttiṣṭha yaśo labhasva; jitvā śatrūn bhuṅkṣva rājyaṃ samṛddham ||
mayaivaite nihatāḥ pūrvam eva; nimittamātraṃ bhava savyasācin ||
droṇaṃ ca bhīṣmaṃ ca jayadrathaṃ ca; karṇaṃ tathānyān api yodhavīrān ||
mayā hatāṃs tvaṃ jahi mā vyathiṣṭhā; yudhyasva jetāsi raṇe sapatnān ||

न भविष्यन्ति सर्वेna bhaviṣyanti sarvenot all of them will remain; all will not survive
ये ऽवस्थिताः प्रत्यनीकेषु योधाःye 'vasthitāḥ pratyanīkeṣu yodhāḥthe warriors arrayed in the opposing ranks; all the fighters stationed in the enemy's ranks
तस्मात् त्वम् उत्तिष्ठtasmāt tvam uttiṣṭhatherefore, arise; therefore stand up
यशो लभस्वyaśo labhasvawin glory; obtain fame
जित्वा शत्रून्jitvā śatrūnhaving conquered the enemies; conquer your foes
भुङ्क्ष्व राज्यं समृद्धम्bhuṅkṣva rājyaṃ samṛddhamenjoy the flourishing kingdom; possess the prosperous kingdom
मयैवैते निहताः पूर्वम् एवmayaivaite nihatāḥ pūrvam evaby Me alone these have already been slain before; they have already been struck down by Me beforehand
निमित्तमात्रं भव सव्यसाचिन्nimittamātraṃ bhava savyasācinbe merely the instrument, O left-handed archer; be only the means, O Savyasachin
द्रोणं च भीष्मं चdroṇaṃ ca bhīṣmaṃ caand Drona and Bhishma; Drona and Bhishma
जयद्रथं च कर्णं तथाjayadrathaṃ ca karṇaṃ tathāand Jayadratha and Karna also; Jayadratha, Karna, and
अन्यान् अपि योधवीरान्anyān api yodhavīrānthe other heroic warriors as well; the other valiant fighters
मया हतांस् त्वं जहिmayā hatāṃs tvaṃ jahislain by Me, you slay; strike down those already struck down by Me
मा व्यथिष्ठाmā vyathiṣṭhādo not be troubled; do not lose heart
युध्यस्व जेतासि रणे सपत्नान्yudhyasva jetāsi raṇe sapatnānfight, you shall conquer the rivals in battle; wage war and you will overcome your enemies
Translation

Shri Bhagavan said: "I am time, grown mighty, the destroyer of the worlds; here I have set out to gather in the peoples. Even without you, not all these warriors arrayed in the opposing ranks will survive. Therefore arise, win glory, conquer your enemies, and enjoy a flourishing kingdom. They have already been slain by Me; be only the instrument, O Savyasachin. Drona, Bhishma, Jayadratha, Karna, and the other heroic warriors, already slain by Me — strike them down. Do not be troubled; fight, and in battle you shall conquer your enemies."
