अमानित्वम् अदम्भित्वम् अहिंसा क्षान्तिर् आर्जवम् ॥
आचार्योपासनं शौचं स्थैर्यम् आत्मविनिग्रहः ॥
इन्द्रियार्थेषु वैराग्यम् अनहंकार एव च ॥
जन्ममृत्युजराव्याधिदुःखदोषानुदर्शनम् ॥
असक्तिर् अनभिष्वङ्गः पुत्रदारगृहादिषु ॥
नित्यं च समचित्तत्वम् इष्टानिष्टोपपत्तिषु ॥
मयि चानन्ययोगेन भक्तिर् अव्यभिचारिणी ॥
विविक्तदेशसेवित्वम् अरतिर् जनसंसदि ॥
अध्यात्मज्ञाननित्यत्वं तत्त्वज्ञानार्थदर्शनम् ॥
एतज् ज्ञानम् इति प्रोक्तम् अज्ञानं यद् अतो ऽन्यथा ॥

Transliteration (IAST)

amānitvam adambhitvam ahiṃsā kṣāntir ārjavam ||
ācāryopāsanaṃ śaucaṃ sthairyam ātmavinigrahaḥ ||
indriyārtheṣu vairāgyam anahaṃkāra eva ca ||
janmamṛtyujarāvyādhiduḥkhadoṣānudarśanam ||
asaktir anabhiṣvaṅgaḥ putradāragṛhādiṣu ||
nityaṃ ca samacittatvam iṣṭāniṣṭopapattiṣu ||
mayi cānanyayogena bhaktir avyabhicāriṇī ||
viviktadeśasevitvam aratir janasaṃsadi ||
adhyātmajñānanityatvaṃ tattvajñānārthadarśanam ||
etaj jñānam iti proktam ajñānaṃ yad ato 'nyathā ||

Translation

"Humility, freedom from pretension, nonviolence, patience, uprightness, service to the teacher, purity, steadfastness, self-control, detachment from the objects of the senses, absence of egoism, constant perception of the flaw of suffering in birth, death, old age, and disease; non-attachment, freedom from clinging to son, wife, home, and the rest, constant equanimity of mind at the coming of the desired and undesired; unwavering bhakti to Me through undivided yoga, resort to solitary places, lack of delight in the crowds of men, constancy in knowledge of the self, and insight into the purpose of knowledge of the truth — this is called knowledge; whatever differs from this is ignorance."
