Food that increases life, clarity, strength, health, happiness, and satisfaction, that is succulent, nourishing, firm, and pleasing to the heart, is dear to people of goodness. Bitter, sour, salty, excessively hot, pungent, dry, and burning food is loved by people of passion and brings pain, grief, and disease. Stale, tasteless, spoiled, unfresh food, along with leftovers and impure food, is dear to people of darkness."
