प्रत्युद्ययुस् ततो भीमं तव पुत्राश् चतुर्दश ॥
सेनापतिः सुषेणश् च जलसंधः सुलोचनः ॥
उग्रो भीमरथो भीमो भीमबाहुर् अलोलुपः ॥
दुर्मुखो दुष्प्रधर्षश् च विवित्सुर् विकटः समः ॥
विसृजन्तो बहून् बाणान् क्रोधसंरक्तलोचनाः ॥
भीमसेनम् अभिद्रुत्य विव्यधुः सहिता भृशम् ॥
पुत्रांस् तु तव संप्रेक्ष्य भीमसेनो महाबलः ॥
सृक्किणी विलिहन् वीरः पशुमध्ये वृको यथा ॥
सेनापतेः क्षुरप्रेण शिरश् चिच्छेद पाण्डवः ॥
जलसंधं विनिर्भिद्य सो ऽनयद् यमसादनम् ॥
सुषेणं च ततो हत्वा प्रेषयाम् आस मृत्यवे ॥
उग्रस्य सशिरस्त्राणं शिरश् चन्द्रोपमं भुवि ॥
पातयाम् आस भल्लेन कुण्डलाभ्यां विभूषितम् ॥
भीमबाहुं च सप्तत्या साश्वकेतुं ससारथिम् ॥
निनाय समरे भीमः परलोकाय मारिष ॥
भीमं भीमरथं चोभौ भीमसेनो हसन्न् इव ॥
भ्रातरौ रभसौ राजन्न् अनयद् यमसादनम् ॥
ततः सुलोचनं भीमः क्षुरप्रेण महामृधे ॥
मिषतां सर्वसैन्यानाम् अनयद् यमसादनम् ॥
पुत्रास् तु तव तं दृष्ट्वा भीमसेनपराक्रमम् ॥
शेषा ये ऽन्ये ऽभवंस् तत्र ते भीमस्य भयार्दिताः ॥
विप्रद्रुता दिशो राजन् वध्यमाना महात्मना ॥
ततो ऽब्रवीच् छांतनवः सर्वान् एव महारथान् ॥
एष भीमो रणे क्रुद्धो धार्तराष्ट्रान् महारथान् ॥
यथाप्राग्र्यान् यथाज्येष्ठान् यथाशूरांश् च संगतान् ॥
निपातयत्य् उग्रधन्वा तं प्रमथ्नीत पार्थिवाः ॥
एवम् उक्तास् ततः सर्वे धार्तराष्ट्रस्य सैनिकाः ॥
अभ्यद्रवन्त संक्रुद्धा भीमसेनं महाबलम् ॥

ugrasya saśirastrāṇaṃ śiraś candropamaṃ bhuvi ||
pātayām āsa bhallena kuṇḍalābhyāṃ vibhūṣitam ||
bhīmabāhuṃ ca saptatyā sāśvaketuṃ sasārathim ||
nināya samare bhīmaḥ paralokāya māriṣa ||
bhīmaṃ bhīmarathaṃ cobhau bhīmaseno hasann iva ||
bhrātarau rabhasau rājann anayad yamasādanam ||
tataḥ sulocanaṃ bhīmaḥ kṣurapreṇa mahāmṛdhe ||
miṣatāṃ sarvasainyānām anayad yamasādanam ||
putrās tu tava taṃ dṛṣṭvā bhīmasenaparākramam ||
śeṣā ye 'nye 'bhavaṃs tatra te bhīmasya bhayārditāḥ ||
vipradrutā diśo rājan vadhyamānā mahātmanā ||
tato 'bravīc chāṃtanavaḥ sarvān eva mahārathān ||
eṣa bhīmo raṇe kruddho dhārtarāṣṭrān mahārathān ||
yathāprāgryān yathājyeṣṭhān yathāśūrāṃś ca saṃgatān ||
nipātayaty ugradhanvā taṃ pramathnīta pārthivāḥ ||
evam uktās tataḥ sarve dhārtarāṣṭrasya sainikāḥ ||
abhyadravanta saṃkruddhā bhīmasenaṃ mahābalam ||
Then fourteen of your sons went out against Bhima: Senapati, Sushena, Jalasandha, Sulochana, Ugra, Bhimaratha, Bhima, Bhimabahu, Alolupa, Durmukha, Dushpradharsha, Vivitsu, Vikata, and Sama. With eyes reddened by anger, releasing a multitude of arrows, they charged together at Bhimasena and struck him fiercely as one. But mighty Bhimasena, the hero, seeing your sons and licking the corners of his mouth like a wolf among a herd of cattle, cut off Senapati's head with a kshurapra. Having pierced Jalasandha, he sent him to the abode of Yama; then he slew Sushena and dispatched him to death. With a bhalla arrow he felled to the ground the moon-like head of Ugra, adorned with earrings, together with its helmet. Bhima, in battle, sent Bhimabahu to the other world, O worthy one, together with his horses, banner, and charioteer, with seventy arrows. Both Bhima and Bhimaratha, the two impetuous brothers, Bhimasena, as if smiling, sent to the abode of Yama, O king. Then, with a kshurapra, Bhima sent Sulochana too to the abode of Yama in the great battle, before the eyes of all the armies. Seeing this valor of Bhimasena, your remaining sons who still lived, tormented by fear of Bhima and struck down by the great-souled one, fled in every direction, O king. Then Shantanava spoke to all the great chariot-warriors: ‘This enraged Bhima in the fight is striking down the great chariot-warriors, the Dhartarashtras, by seniority, by precedence, and as heroes gathered together — this fierce archer strikes them down. Crush him, O kings!’ Thus addressed, all the soldiers of Dhartarashtra rushed forward in fury upon mighty Bhimasena.
