काङ्गकेयूरैः कुण्डलैर् णिभिः शुभैः
नुत्रैः त्रैश् हारैर् निष्कैश् भा
स्त्रैश् त्रैश् विध्वस्तैश् चाव्यनैर् पि
जाश्वनुजैर् भिन्नैः स्त्रैः स्यन्दभूणैः
तैस् तैश् विविधैर् भावैस् त्र त्र सुंरा
तितैर् विद्धैश् संभौ द्यौर् ग्रहैः

gaśvamanujair bhinnaiḥ śastraiḥ syandanabhūṣaṇaiḥ ||
tais taiś ca vividhair bhāvais tatra tatra vasuṃdha ||
patitair apaviddhaiś ca saṃbabhau dyaur iva grahaiḥ ||

...with golden armlets and bracelets, earrings, and beautiful gems; with armor and vambraces, necklaces and nishkas, O Bharata; with garments and shattered parasols, and with fly-whisks made of yak-tails; with elephants, horses, and men cut down, with weapons and chariot ornaments -- with all these various objects, fallen and scattered here and there, the earth shone like the sky with its planets.
