चिराभिषितो ह्य् द्य त्वया मामः
पुरा देवासुरे युद्धे क्रस्य लिना था
द्य युद्धं हाघोरं दास्यामि सात्व
तो ज्ञास्यसि त्त्वे द्वीर्यपौरुषम्
द्य संनीं याता या त्वं नितो णे
था रामानुजेनाजौ राणिर् क्ष्मणे वै

cibhilaṣito hy adya tva saha sagamaḥ ||
pu desure yuddhe śakrasya bali yathā ||
adya yuddhaṃ maghoraṃ tava syāmi tvata ||
tato jñāsyasi tattvena madvīryabalapauruṣam ||
adya saṃyamanīṃ ma tvaṃ nihato raṇe ||
yathā nujejau vaṇir lakṣmaṇena vai ||

Translation

Indeed, long desired is now this meeting with you, as of old in the battle of gods and asuras, as it was with Śakra and Bali. Today I shall give you a most terrible battle, O Sātvata; then you shall truly know my valor, strength, and courage. Today, slain by me in battle, you shall depart to Saṃyamanī [the city of Yama], as Rāvaṇi [Indrajit] was slain in battle by Lakṣmaṇa, Rāma's younger brother.
