ततः किरीटी भीमश् च सहसा संन्यवर्तताम् ॥
द्भ्यां वंशाभ्यां रिगृह्य लं
बीत्सुर् क्षिणं पार्श्वम् त्तरं तु वृकोरः
भाद्वाजं रौघाभ्यां द्भ्याम् भ्यर्षताम्
तौ दा सृञ्जयाश् चै पाञ्चालाश् हौसः
न्वच्छन् हारा त्स्याश् सात्वतैः
तः सा भाती सेना ध्यमाना किरीटिना
द्रोणे वार्यमाणास् ते स्वयं सुते
नाक्यन्त हारा योधा वायितुं दा

tataḥ kirīṭī bhīmaś ca sahasā saṃnyavartatām ||
mahadbhyāṃ rathavaṃśābhyāṃ parigṛhya balaṃ tava ||
bhatsur dakṣiṇaṃ rśvam uttaraṃ tu vṛkodaraḥ ||
bhāradvājaṃ śaraughābhyāṃ mahadbhyām abhyavarṣatām ||
tau ta sṛñjaś caiva ñcāś ca mahaujasaḥ ||
anvagacchan maja matsyāś ca saha tvataiḥ ||
tataḥ bhāra se vadhya kiṭi ||
droṇena ryaṇās te svayaṃ tava sutena ca ||
śakyanta maja yodhā rayituṃ ta ||

Translation

Then the Diademed One [Arjuna] and Bhima suddenly turned back, encircling your army with two great arrays of chariots. Bibhatsu took the right flank and Vrikodara the left, and together they showered Bharadvaja [Drona] with two great floods of arrows. Then the mighty Srinjayas and Panchalas followed after them, O great king, together with the Matsyas and Satvatas. Then that army of the Bharatas, being slaughtered by the Diademed One, [your warriors], held back by Drona and by your own son alone, [fought on]...
