Traducción

'Having pondered, the bird (Garuda) then said to his mother Vinata: 'For what reason, mother, must I do what the serpents say?' Vinata said: 'I have become the slave of my ignoble sister, O best of birds: the serpents, by deceit, [resorting] to trickery, made the wager false.' Suta said: 'When his mother had told him that reason, the ranger of the sky, grieved by her sorrow, spoke this word to the serpents: 'What must I bring, or what must I learn, or what feat must I perform here, that I may be freed from slavery to you? Tell me the truth, O tongue-lickers.' Hearing this, the serpents said: 'Bring the amrita by your might — then your release from slavery will come, O ranger of the sky.''
