दुर्योधन उवाच
मध्यस्थः सततं भीष्मो द्रोणपुत्रो मयि स्थितः ॥
यतः पुत्रस् ततो द्रोणो भविता नात्र सांशयः ॥
कृपः शारद्वतश् चैव यत एते त्रयस् ततः ॥
द्रोणं च भागिनेयं च न स त्यक्ष्यति कर्हि चित् ॥
क्षत्तार्थबद्धस् त्व् अस्माकं प्रच्छन्नं तु यतः परे ॥
न चैकः स समर्थो ऽस्मान् पाण्डवार्थे प्रबाधितुम् ॥
स विश्रब्धः पाण्डुपुत्रान् सह मात्रा विवासय ॥
वारणावतम् अद्यैव नात्र दोषो भविष्यति ॥
विनिद्रकरणं घोरं हृदि शल्यम् इवार्पितम् ॥
शोकपावकम् उद्भूतं कर्मणैतेन नाशय ॥

na caikaḥ sa samartho 'smān pāṇḍavārthe prabādhitum ||
sa viśrabdhaḥ pāṇḍuputrān saha mātrā vivāsaya ||
vāraṇāvatam adyaiva nātra doṣo bhaviṣyati ||
vinidrakaraṇaṃ ghoraṃ hṛdi śalyam ivārpitam ||
śokapāvakam udbhūtaṃ karmaṇaitena nāśaya ||

क्षत्ता अर्थबद्धः तु अस्माकं प्रच्छन्नं तु यतः परेkṣattā arthabaddhaḥ tu asmākaṃ pracchannaṃ tu yataḥ pareKshattar (Vidura) is bound to us by material ties, though secretly he is with them (the Pandavas);
न च एकः सः समर्थः अस्मान् पाण्डवार्थे प्रबाधितुम्na ca ekaḥ saḥ samarthaḥ asmān pāṇḍavārthe prabādhitumand alone he is not able to harm us for the sake of the Pandavas;
सः विश्रब्धः पाण्डुपुत्रान् सह मात्रा विवासयsaḥ viśrabdhaḥ pāṇḍuputrān saha mātrā vivāsayatherefore confidently banish the sons of Pandu together with their mother
वारणावतम् अद्य एव न अत्र दोषः भविष्यतिvāraṇāvatam adya eva na atra doṣaḥ bhaviṣyatito Varanavata this very day; there will be no wrong in it;
विनिद्रकरणं घोरं हृदि शल्यम् इव अर्पितम्vinidrakaraṇaṃ ghoraṃ hṛdi śalyam iva arpitamthe sleep-robbing, terrible [grief], like a dart lodged in the heart --

Traducción

Duryodhana said: 'Bhishma is always impartial; the son of Drona is on my side, and wherever the son is, there Drona will be -- there is no doubt in this. And Kripa will be wherever these three are: he will never abandon Drona and his nephew. Vidura is bound to us by material ties, though secretly he is with them; and alone he is not able to harm us for the sake of the Pandavas. Therefore confidently banish the sons of Pandu together with their mother to Varanavata this very day -- there will be no wrong in it; and with this act, extinguish the sleep-robbing, terrible sorrow-fire that has arisen in me, like a dart lodged in my heart.'
