त्वरया चोपसंगम्य स्नेहाद् आगतसंभ्रमः ॥
तं समुत्थापयाम् आस नृपतिं काममोहितम् ॥
भूतलाद् भूमिपालेशं पितेव पतितं सुतम् ॥
प्रज्ञया वयसा चैव वृद्धः कीर्त्या दमेन च ॥
अमात्यस् तं समुत्थाप्य बभूव विगतज्वरः ॥
उवाच चैनं कल्याण्या वाचा मधुरयोत्थितम् ॥
मा भैर् मनुजशार्दूल भद्रं चास्तु तवानघ ॥

taṃ samutthāpayām āsa nṛpatiṃ kāmamohitam ||
bhūtalād bhūmipāleśaṃ piteva patitaṃ sutam ||
prajñayā vayasā caiva vṛddhaḥ kīrtyā damena ca ||
amātyas taṃ samutthāpya babhūva vigatajvaraḥ ||
uvāca cainaṃ kalyāṇyā vācā madhurayotthitam ||
mā bhair manujaśārdūla bhadraṃ cāstu tavānagha ||

"Hastening to approach, agitated by affection, the minister raised up the king, bewildered by passion — as a father raises a fallen son — that minister, foremost in wisdom, in years, in fame, and in self-restraint. Having raised him up, he became free from anxiety, and said to him, once risen, in a kind, sweet voice: 'Fear not, O tiger among men; and may good fortune be yours, O blameless one.'"
