अन्ये तु नानानृपपुत्रपौत्राः; कृष्णागतैर् नेत्रमनःस्वभावैः ॥
व्यायच्छमाना ददृशुर् भ्रमन्तीं; संदष्टदन्तच्छदताम्रवक्त्राः ॥
तथैव पार्थाः पृथुबाहवस् ते; वीरौ यमौ चैव महानुभावौ ॥
तां द्रौपदीं प्रेक्ष्य तदा स्म सर्वे; कन्दर्पबाणाभिहता बभूवुः ॥
anye tu nānānṛpaputrapautrāḥ; kṛṣṇāgatair netramanaḥsvabhāvaiḥ ||
vyāyacchamānā dadṛśur bhramantīṃ; saṃdaṣṭadantacchadatāmravaktrāḥ ||
tathaiva pārthāḥ pṛthubāhavas te; vīrau yamau caiva mahānubhāvau ||
tāṃ draupadīṃ prekṣya tadā sma sarve; kandarpabāṇābhihatā babhūvuḥ ||
"But other, various sons and grandsons of kings, their eyes, minds, and being gone toward Krishna, strained as they gazed at her walking about, their faces coppery-red, biting their lips; so too the broad-armed Parthas, and the two mighty heroic twins -- having beheld that Draupadi, all of them became struck by the arrows of Kama."

Here Draupadi's beauty draws both kings and the Parthas themselves. It is telling that the Pandavas too, on seeing her, are "struck by the arrows of Kama": attraction visits them as well -- but their love is destined and sacred. Here lies an important distinction: for the others this is desire for what belongs to another, for the Parthas it is attraction to the one destined for them; one is lust, the other the recognition of one's own portion. Thus the scripture shows that beauty moves even the righteous; but what in others is blind desire is, in the Pandavas, the call of a destined love leading to a dharmic union.
