उपायं कर्मणः सिद्धौ भगवन् वक्तुम् अर्हसि ॥
निवारयेयं येनेन्द्रं वर्षमाणं महावने ॥

Here the hero asks the god for means beyond the human. It is significant that Arjuna, though ready for the feat, still seeks guidance from above: even the valiant need a god's help against a god. Here is the humility of strength that recognizes its need for higher assistance. The scripture shows here Arjuna's prudence; and he entrusts the matter to Agni.
