Traducción
"The conch that Prajāpati received for Indra in a former kalpa, Varuṇa's ocean-vessel offered to him; sprinkled with a thousand niṣkas, excellently wrought by Viśvakarman — with that conch Kṛṣṇa anointed him; and at that I became faint [I swooned]."

The crown of the anointing — Kṛṣṇa Himself performs the abhiṣeka of Yudhiṣṭhira with the wondrous conch of the gods; and at just this moment Duryodhana "swoons." It is telling that it is not the wealth, nor the parasols, but precisely the exaltation of a devotee by the Lord's own hand that casts the envious man into unconsciousness: his soul cannot bear the sight of the Supreme crowning His own. The very affliction is notable — kaśmala, the same that seized Arjuna on Kurukṣetra; but in Arjuna it arose from the confusion of duty and compassion, in Duryodhana from pure envy. One swoons wishing no harm, the other unable to bear another's good. Thus one word names two opposite hearts: the fainting of one who loves will be healed by the Gītā, the fainting of the envious leads to ruin.
